Protecting Yourself from Online Fraud
-
Keep your credit/debit card numbers private.
Never give your card number to anyone- not even someone
claiming to be from a charity-over the phone.
-
Don't fall for scams claiming big rewards
for a donation of money. For example, don't believe anyone
who says they will give you a cruise if you donate $100
dollars to their charity.
-
Only buy from secure online shopping sites.
-
If possible use online bill payment services
when you shop online to avoid having to enter in your credit
card information
-
Be wary of work-from-home scams. Remember,
you should be paid for doing a job; you shouldn't have to
pay to get one.

Notice of changes in Temporary FDIC Insurance Coverage for
Transaction Accounts
All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account" are
insured in full by the Federal deposit Insurance Corporation
from December 31, 2010 through December 31, 2012. This
temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate
from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors
under the FDIC's general deposit rules.
The Term "noninterest-bearing transaction account" includes a
traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which
the insured depository institution pays no interest. It also
includes Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts ("IOLTAs"). It
does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or
demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts,
money-market deposit accounts.
